EPL: Football Manager simulation Predicts the Outcome for the 2017/18 season

Everyone thinks they know what the 2017/18 Premier League table is going to look like.
Everyone thinks Manchester City/Manchester United/Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool/Tottenham will win the league with such confidence.
The Mirror ran a season long simulation based on how squads currently look so obviously take it with a pinch of salt.
Of course, the transfer market doesn’t shut until the end of August so lots of teams could potentially substantially bolster their squads between now and then, or alternatively lose key players.
Here's the detailed breakdown:
  • Manchester City reclaim the Premier League crown as they finish top of the pile on 84 points
  • Chelsea’s defence of their title ends in disappointment as they finish in second spot, six points off the top
  • Manchester United end the season in third spot, a further two points back from Chelsea with Arsenal returning to the top four on 75 points to earn the final Champions League place
  • Liverpool finish in fifth spot, missing out on fourth spot by just two points while Tottenham’s interim season at Wembley ends in a sixth place finish
  • Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are the main goalscoring protagonists for the champions, scoring a combined 35 goals for the season
  • Harry Kane claims the Golden Boot for the third year in succession as he finds the net 27 times over the course of the campaign
  • Romelu Lukaku and Alexandre Lacazette are the highest scorers out of the big summer signings as they score 23 and 22 times respectively with Alvaro Morata just shy of the 20-goal mark in his debut Premier League season on 18
  • Kevin De Bruyne emerges as the star man of the season and walks away with the Player of the Year award in May.
