Anthony Joshua To Fight Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff on October 28 for IBF heavyweight world title

British-Nigerian Boxer,  Anthony Joshua, who also holds the WBA and IBO titles, had been told he must face the IBF mandatory challenger before December 2 or risk being stripped of that belt.

Now he will take on 36-year-old Pulev, who has just one loss in his 26 fights, and claims Joshua has “no chance” against him.

Joshua had been pencilled in for a rematch against Wladimir Klitschko before he retired last month.

AJ, undefeated in his first 19 fights as a professional and with 19 KOs to his name, floored the Ukrainian in the 11th round in front of 90,000 at Wembley last April.

Now he will put that all on the line when he meets Pulev at the Principality Stadium late next month.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn was confident the fight would be confirmed at some point this week.

He said: "Pulev's got to be happy with the situation, it's eight weeks on Saturday which gives both guys more than enough time."

Pulev lost to Klitschko in 2014 but since then has defeated Britain's Dereck Chisora and American Kevin Johnson.
